The automotive sector is of major importance to Cheshire, and is a diverse industry, delivering huge economic benefits both to the local area and to the North West as a whole.
With 60 companies, 9,000 skilled personnel and an annual GVA of £624 million (projected to increase to £783 million by 2015), the industry in Cheshire has everything from large scale operations manufacturing world famous luxury cars, to family run specialist businesses.
Over the last 5 years Cheshire companies have invested £700 million in modernisation, research and development and innovation, including £500 million by Bentley Motors to bring a new generation state of the art facility and product range to Crewe.
Cheshire is home to some of the industry’s most successful companies including: Airbags International Ltd, Bentley Motors Ltd, Boalloy Fastruck Bodies Ltd and Vauxhall Motors Ltd.
