The Council has recently agreed a strategy to safeguard its resources and help those working within and for the organisation to utilise its scarce resources in the most appropriate way, a part of which is preventing and detecting fraud and corruption in addition to mismanagement issues. The strategy is called Safeguarding Resources and Whistle Blowing.
You are reminded that you should report any concerns about potential mismanagement or fraud to your manager or to the other Officers detailed in the Strategy. In addition to the strategy the Council has in place a Confidential Reporting Procedure (whistle blowing) that allows you to report concerns you might have about the use of resources within the County Council.
If you would like to discuss either of the above issues please contact one of the individuals named in the Confidential Reporting Procedure.
During the autumn, work to help improve the safeguarding of resources will be launched across the Council. The aim of this will be to raise awareness and to help those who work for the Council, or support the Council's work, to identify areas where the Council is at risk of fraud and to improve the measures to safeguard against it. This short message along with its links bring to your attention the latest changes in this area and alerts you to work later in the year. |
