Direction of Travel

Main heading

Sub-heading

Direction of Travel

Direction of Travel is an annual assessment and is an important new element of the ‘CPA – The Harder Test’ framework implemented in 2005. It informs councils on their rate of improvement.

Information and evidence provided in a ‘Councils Direction of Travel Self Assessment’ helps inform the judgement made by the Council’s Relationship Manager (RM) assigned to the Council by the Audit Commission.

Completed self-assessments are used by the Audit Commission to make certain that any on-site work that might be necessary is proportionate and focused.

Further information can be found on the Audit Commission internet site
