Household Waste Permit Scheme

Permits will be required if you intend to use a Cheshire County Council HWRC with any sort of van, pickup, commercial type 4x4 or a trailer over 1.5 metres in length. If you arrive without a permit you will be refused entry to the site.

Trailers in excess of 3.5 metres will not be allowed on site under any circumstances. Trailers between 2.5 - 3.5 metres will only be allowed on site at Danes Moss, Macclesfield, Ellesmere Port and Winford. The length of trailers refers to the total internal length of the trailer box (excluding towbar).

All vehicles above 3.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) are not authorised to use the HWRCs.

Permits are provided free of charge to householders but are only valid for the deposit of household waste.

6 permits will be issued at a time and will be valid for a period of 6 months. A maximum of 12 permits will be issued over 12 months.

Further information on the scheme is available at http://www.cheshire.gov.uk/waste/household_waste_permit_scheme.htm

Waste produced by or carried in the course of a business is trade waste and cannot be accepted at HWRCs. Permits will not be issued for the disposal of trade waste. Details of alternative waste disposal facilities are provided on the Waste Management homepage at http://www.cheshire.gov.uk/waste/home.htm

Flytipping of waste is illegal. Anyone disposing of waste in this way could be liable to prosecution. The County Council discourages all traders and householders from flytipping waste. Please ensure that you read carefully all the terms and conditions before submitting your form.
