The OSCARS - One Stop Community Access Roadshow
Our research tells us that the public want streamlined and simplified access to "The Council" regardless of who provides the service (local authority / other public agency).

The OSCARS are a new approach - they go out to the community rather than expecting people to come to us.
- They provide more flexibility in terms of locations e.g. supermarket car parks, village shows, market days, rural areas
- Their operating hours are more flexible than traditional offices e.g. evenings / weekends
- They can fill gaps in current service provision e.g. in rural areas
- They demonstrate how public sector agencies are working together to provide joined up access to their services
Who Do They Belong to?
They are operated by the Cheshire, Warrington and Halton Information Consortium (CWHIC) a partnership funded by Cheshire County Council, the 6 District Councils, Warrington Borough Council, Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire Authority.
What are they for?
- To promote electronic access to public services via the organisations websites. This is often the most convenient way for the public to do business with us 24 hours a day 7 days a week and the most cost effective for the organisations - thus reducing the impact on Council Tax bills
- To demonstrate the public services that are available online e.g. library book renewals, council tax payments, streetlight fault reporting
- To collect "on-the-spot" feedback about local issues / concerns
- To raise awareness of promotional campaigns such as recycling
- To consult the public on issues affecting their local area
- Local community meetings and presentations
