I am a member of the Weaver Vale Conservative Association and I am currently Vice President of the Association. 

I am a Governor of Hartford High School – my local School – and I sit on the Board of Directors of the Mid Cheshire College of Further Education which is also based in Hartford.

I am a Member of Vale Royal Borough Council who have appointed me to sit on several outside bodies, including the Association of Port Health Authorities and Manchester Port Health Authority.  I have also been elected to the Cheshire West and Chester Shadow Council where I am the portfolio holder for Prosperity and Regeneration.  I keep a weekly blog which can be read via the Cheshire West and Chester website

I am particularly interested in the development of people, encouraging them to use skills and ensuring the availability of learning to all in the community.  This includes making available areas where adults can use computers, so enhancing their own skills and knowledge in a non-formal way.
 
I am married with two boys, two girls and four grandchildren.  I have been a Hartford resident for 40 years.  I was previously employed by ICI and its successor companies and worked in the Northwich and Runcorn area.  I am a member of the Church of England and attend Weaverham Church.  My other interests include gardening and travel
