About Me

I was first elected to Cheshire County Council in 2005. I have also been a member of Congleton Borough Council since 1980.

I am a member of Cheshire Fire Authority and have been elected to serve on the Cheshire East Shadow Unitary Council.

I was born in Wilmslow, married Sue in 1967 and moved to Alsager in 1971. We had two children, our daughter still lives in Alsager but our son died in an accident aged 25.

I started work for British Rail as a junior clerk in 1960 and retired as a company control manager for Transrail in 1996. Whilst working for Rail Express Systems in the early 1990's I served on their quality improvement team. Also whilst working for Transrail I worked with the Rail Industry Training Council on setting up N.V.Q.'s for control staff.

My outside interests include football and cricket. Played cricket for Wilmslow Wayfarers and Styal in the sixties and Rode Park in the seventies.

Cheshire County Council To Maintain Pressure On Post Office Closures Consultants working for Cheshire County Council have written a 73 page report on proposed post office cutbacks in the county. The document will now be sent to the Post Office’s Network Development Manager in time for the consultation December 18 deadline.
