Labour’s Brendan Doyle Raises Concerns Over Crb Checks For Migraint Workers In Uk Care Homes

Cheshire’s Labour spokesman on Health and Social Care issues has raised concerns that a number of staff in private care homes across the UK have not had Criminal Records Bureau checks from their country of origin.

County Councillor Brendan Doyle together with County Councillor Dorothy Flude put forward a notice of motion about the issue before council.

Tories Make ‘A Cut Too Far’, Claims Labour

Cheshire’s Labour group today (Monday) warned that the Tory Administration’s failure to provide “proper” investment in vital services would harm the most vulnerable people in Cheshire.

Group Leader Derek Bateman attacked the Tories’ refusal to allocate an extra £700,000 ease the “tremendous burden” on older people and adults who pay for social care.

His party colleague Dorothy Flude (Crewe South) criticised a £150,000 cut in the Education Psychology service.

County Councillor Flude submitted an amendment with Liberal Democrat Molly Hale calling for the reduction to be halved to £75,000 and funded by schools reserves which they claim are ‘considerable’, but it was defeated.
