| I was first elected onto Cheshire County Council as the Councillor for Eddisbury Division in 1997. My main area of interest is the environment and the key issues we are facing. I am currently the Executive Member for Environment, Economy, Rural Affairs & Waste. I am a Governor of Tarporley High School and I was also a District Councillor for Oulton Ward in Vale Royal Borough Council from 1991 until 1999. More recently I have joined the Flood Defence Committee for the North West.
I am married with 3 children and a Chemical Engineer by profession. During my career I worked for ICI, Rank Hovis McDougal – and later became a freelance energy consultant.
I was a Member of the CBI Committee on energy efficiency - and contributed to the report from the Department of the Environment on climate change in the UK. Working for the Commission of the European Union, I undertook assignments in the former Soviet Union within programmes of technical assistance, with particular reference to energy and the environment. My interest in these matters has continued within local government. |
