I was elected to Cheshire County Council in May 2005 and I represent the Macclesfield Town Electoral Division. I am a Member of the Labour Group on the Council. This area covers Hurdsfield, the town centre and the area to the east of Buxton Road. I am a school teacher and I have been teaching at secondary school level for 16 years.
As a teacher and working mother I am particularly interested in improving the services provided for young people in Cheshire.
My work on the Council includes:
- governor of a local primary school
- trustee of the Macclesfield Museums Trust
- member of the Children’s Services Scrutiny Committee
- Member of the Local Joint Highways Committee
I work closely with the Borough Councillors in my area and with the neighbourhood police team to try to make sure local people can get the best from the area’s services.
I am happy to be contacted by telephone or email.
