About Me

I am a local farmer producing rare breed beef for sale direct to consumers.

I have always lived in Mickle Trafford, where I have been a Parish Councillor since 1976.  I am also pleased to be a Member of the Assessment Panel for Cheshire Quality Parish Council applications.

I am the Chairman of Governors at Upton-by-Chester High School and a Governor at St Oswald’s, Mollington.

I was elected to serve as a County Councillor in 1997 and currently hold the following positions:

  • Deputy Leader of the Council
  • Lead Member for Children’s Services on the Council’s Executive
  • Member of the Cheshire & Warrington Local Learning & Skills Council

My rural interests cover being:

  • Chairman of Cheshire Rural Forum
  • Member of North West Regional Rural Affairs Forum Executive
  • Member of Cheshire & Warrington Rural Enterprise Board

Transforming Learning Communities

Delamere Church of England Primary School will be reviewed in 18 months and statutory public consultations are to take place about the proposal to close Handley Hill Primary School in Winsford in summer 2009.

The decisions, part of the Transforming Learning Communities review (TLC), were taken today (Thursday) by the Lead Member for Children’s Services County Councillor David Rowlands.

No further action is to be taken at this stage regarding the future of Delamere Church of England Primary School.
