I was first elected to Cheshire County Council in 1997. My interests lie in the areas of transport, highways and health, and I am the Chairman of the newly formed Crewe and Nantwich Locality Board.  I am also Vice Chairman of both the Children's Services Scrutiny Select Committee and Corporate Services Scrutiny Select Committee.

I am a member of the Independent Group on the County Council. I feel it is important that Independent Members have a role to play in Local Government and that Councillors should be able to vote freely on local issues in the interests of their electorate.

I have also been a Member of Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council since 1996 and I am currently Deputy Leader of the Nantwich Independent Group.  I was also recently appointed Council Convenor on Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council.

I was also recently elected as a Nantwich Independent for the Cheshire East Shadow Council.

I was honoured to be the Chairman of Nantwich Town Council twice, in 1992 and 2002. I have been a Member of the Council since 1986.

I have been married to Margaret for 37 years and I am currently employed as a Shift Production Manager for Medica Packaging in Crewe, an area of employment I have been involved in for over 35 years.

As an independent I judge each issue on its merits and I vote in the best interest of the people I represent.
