Look out in May for information about a new public consultation which will be advertised on the Cheshire County Council website, in local press, council publications and at key public offices such as libraries.

In summer 2007 you will be invited to comment on our assessment of the environmental impacts of Cheshire’s Consolidated Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy and what we need to do to prevent, reduce, mitigate and monitor those impacts.

We are currently consolidating Cheshire’s original 2002 Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy in order to take on board revised Government guidance on waste strategy formats and to ensure the strategy fully reflects all the work undertaken by the Cheshire Waste Partnership since 2002.

As part of this we are also conducting a ‘Strategic Environmental Assessment’ of the Consolidated Strategy. This is a statutory requirement and will include the 12 week consultation on our environmental assessment of the Consolidated Strategy.
