The Unit is a shared service that forms part of the Regeneration and Culture Directorate of the Cheshire West and Chester Unitary Authority and the Performance and Capacity Directorate in the Cheshire East Unitary Authority.
Who Can We Help?
The Unit assists both East and West Cheshire Council departments and external voluntary or Community organisations on European Union and External Funding issues.
What Do We Do?
Funding
- The Unit works to help attract funding to Cheshire.West and Chester and Cheshire East
- There are numerous external funding opportunities available including Lottery, Government grants and European Structural Funding. The Unit will advise on appropriate funds to target, outlining rules and regulations, what makes a good application and deadlines.
- Build and Develop an awareness of external funding opportunities

Europe
- We support Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East in identifying and responding to European developments affecting both East and West Cheshire
- We aim to develop a powerful voice for Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East In Europe.
- We will strengthen and develop partnerships and networks (within and outside the Councils) and raise the profiles of the new Authorities and partners both in the Region and Internationally
