Formal Consultation: North West England region European Competitiveness and Employment Operational Programme document (OP) for 2007-2013
GONW, on behalf of the wider regional European funding partnership, has launched a formal consultation on the draft plan for the North West’s £500 million European funding programme for 2007-2013.
The seven-year ‘Competitiveness and Employment’ programme will build on the investments made since 2000 by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Objective 1 and 2 Programmes in the North West.
The consultation runs until the 19th February 2007, and invites views on the draft Operational Programme (OP) document, which lays out the indicative spending allocations and priorities for action needed to create the conditions for sustainable economic growth and social inclusion in the region.
Regeneris Consulting were commissioned to develop and prepare the North West’s OP, under the scrutiny of the Operational Programme Steering Committee, a key regional stakeholder group formed to provide a strategic overview of the OP developmental work.
The First Draft OP was issued for public consultation on 2 August 2006, as part of a schedule of partnership engagement. Views were taken into account in the development of subsequent versions of the OP, culminating in the Consultation Draft below.
The consultation document contains a series of questions (Appendix A) in relation to the Draft Operational Programme to help stimulate and frame responses, although additional comments will also be considered.
It would be very helpful if responses were made at an Organisational level rather than individual level.
The deadline for responses is Monday 19 February 2007.
