Information Sharing, Common Assessment Framework and ContactPoint

Main heading

Sub-heading

information sharing and contactpoint header

The DCSF site Every Child Matters explains how ContactPoint and the Common Assessment Framework are key components of the Children Act 2004.

A Common Assessment Framework (CAF) helps service providers to gather and understand information about the needs and strengths of a child or young person - based on discussions with the child, their family and other practitioners who are working with them.
The CAF aims to identify additional needs which are not being met and to provide timely and co-ordinated support to meet those needs.

ContactPoint will be the quick way to find out who else is working with the child or young person, making it easier to deliver more co-ordinated support
