There are rules and regulations to safeguard children who have part time jobs and children who take part in entertainment.  The legislation ensures that a child’s education does not suffer and the child is not put at risk of harm by taking part in these activities.  The Education Welfare Service of Cheshire’s Local Authority has been given the role of overseeing this legislation within Cheshire.

The following pages give a brief outline of the legislation and where appropriate, the necessary application forms. They are set out in two topics,  Employment and Entertainment.

There is one office within the county which deals with all aspects concerning children who are employed and children who take part in entertainment.  This office is at Crewe and the details are:-
