Sixth Form Access Grants

The Council will offer a grant to a school sixth form student if the family has a qualifying low income but, for a personal or technical reason, they are not eligible for an EMA. ‘One off’ awards may also be offered in exceptional circumstances to students who may or may not be in receipt of EMA (including students who are orphaned or estranged from their parents and are living alone or in local authority foster care or have a disability) where financial need is evidenced.

Funding is cash limited. It is advisable to apply early as we may be unable to offer further awards when the money has been allocated.
