Change in acceptable evidence items to confirm identity for new applicants:
UK nationals MUST submit a valid ORIGINAL UK passport.

If they do not hold a passport, they may submit an original birth certificate which MUST be accompanied by a Declaration Form to confirm the applicant's identity, signed by the applicant and a 'person of standing' who has known the applicant for 2 years such as professional, civil servant, teacher or person of good standing in the community whose evidence can be verified. The declaration form can be downloaded from the Student Finance Direct website. Alternatively, contact the Customer Services Office to arrange to have one sent to you.
Passports will be returned as soon as possible by Recorded (signed for) post. No liability can be accepted by the County Council for items lost or stolen in the post
Ensure you pay the correct postage rate as underpaid items will be refused. Cheshire Student Finance will then be responsible for assessing your entitlement. The Student Loans Company will send you details of how much you will receive and when it will be paid.
