Student Finance is administered jointly by Local Authorities and the Student Loans Company under the name "Student Finance Direct" (to be known as "Student Finance England" from February 2009).
All new students entering Higher Education in the 2009/10 academic year can apply to Student Finance England www.studentfinanceengland.co.uk from february 2009.
The Local Authority (LA) process student applications and calculate entitlement to support for continuing students only.
The Student Loans Company (SLC) are responsible for all loan and grant payments and repayment of loans.

Enquiries regarding Student Finance should be directed in the first instance to the Customer Support Office at the Student Loan Company. Telephone 08456 077 577, Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5.30pm.
The student finance office will handle enquiries from existing students.
