Welcome to Schools Admissions, Transfers and Appeals

This site is intended to assist you to make important decisions regarding your child's education.

Before you state your preference for the school you would like your child to attend you need to know what you can do and how to proceed. I do advise you to visit local schools and view the school prospectus and form your impressions before deciding which school you would prefer your child to attend.

We try to make sure that parents and pupils get into the school they want and most people do. However, this is not always possible and these pages explain your rights and responsibilities.

Once your child starts school, I hope that you will give your child every support throughout his or her school career. The Council is keen to see parents and carers actively involved in their child’s learning.

Experience shows that the children who succeed best at school do so with good support and understanding from their home. I do wish your child every success in the future.
