Latest New on the MDF (September 2007)

Community Roadshows 2007

County Council Environmental Planning staff will be on hand in locations across the county through the mobile One-stop Community Access Roadshows OSCAR  to raise awareness of the consultation, explain the issues and legal processes involved when mineral sources are located, and hear your views and concerns.

These took place from 11am-3pm on :

  • September 25 Fourways Inn, Oakmere
  • September 27 Morrisons Superstore (Winsford Store) Car Park
  • October 4 Sandbach Market
  • October 11 Macclesfield Town Hall

Issues and Options Community Engagement Events

The consultation on the first stage of the Minerals Development Framework; the Issues and Options Report will be available for public consultation in Autumn 2007, dates available in Minerals Development Framework bulletin above. During this time the minerals team will be hosting a number of events involving the community including, road shows, more focus groups and stakeholder workshops to discuss the Issues and Options Papers.

Issues and Options Public Consultation (Autumn 2007)

On 12th July, during the Full Council Meeting, The Council discussed the Draft Core Strategy and Site Specific Policies and Allocations paper which will form the basis of the Issues and Options Consultation.

The revised MDF timetable was discussed by the Council when they met in the full council on February 15th.


Cheshire Omnibus Community Survey 2007

Part of the Cheshire County Council's Omnibus Community Survey included questions relating to the Mineral extraction and the issues and options associated with minerals and quarrying. The results of the survey will contribute towards the Issues and Options Stage of the Cheshire Mineral Development Framework.


Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment

Scoping Report

The results of Sustainability Appraisal and the Strategic Environmental Assessment Scoping Report 2006 consultation are currently being collated and will be published shortly.
