Ellesmere Port Teacher Gets Through To Next Stage Of The X Factor
Teacher Claire Palmer from The Acorns Primary School in Ellesmere Port is bidding for stardom by preparing to spend part of her summer holidays at a ‘Boot Camp’ for the X Factor TV show.
22 year old Claire appeared at the Manchester audition on Monday and was voted through to the next round by the judges which included Simon Cowell.
And the massive exposure she could soon be receiving is a far cry from her normal audience.
“I’ve appeared in a couple of things at school as well as an amateur show and I have sang at weddings and at local pubs – but the last two always involved friends so what is happening now is over whelming” said Claire who teaches Years 3 and 4.

“This has taken me completely by surprise because I did not expect to get this far.”
Claire who enjoys singing soul and ballads continued: “I have sung to the pupils at the school and they have been great and have given me cards and posters wishing me luck.
“I don’t know how far I will go in the contest but I am going to give it my best shot.”
Added Headteacher Amanda Powell: “We are all immensely proud of Claire.
She is a talented young lady and teacher and has brought so much excitement to the school.
“The look of shock on some of the children’s faces when they were told about the X Factor was a treat to watch – everyone is so excited.
“Claire’s tv appearance is also brilliant for the local community.”
