The Cheshire team – Thomas, Mark, Phillip and Ashley - had already competed in the Cheshire Final to win their place in the national final where they took on 19 other schools from across the country. Unfortunately they just missed out on a place in the grand final by one point.
Although the team were disappointed they brought home the trophy for best mascot.
Their ‘Cheese Wedge Triangular Pants ’ mascot caught the judges eye out of a number of entries from competing teams. Designed and produced during their art lessons, the whole year 9 were involved in the project.
Cheshire’s Executive Member for Community and Communications said: “I would like to personally congratulate the team for all their hard work and trust that they enjoyed taking part.
“They were excellent ambassadors for Cheshire.
“I am sure that the best mascot trophy will have pride of place at the school.”
Their teacher Sarah Birkenhead said: “It was a fantastic experience for the four students and to win a place in the national final is something that will be celebrated in the school.
“It is a great testament to the hard work they put into learning all about their legal rights as a consumer and we are all delighted to have won the ‘Best Mascot’ for the second time.”
