The £2.75m project to extend and adapt the junior school building has provided six additional classrooms, a nursery and a hall extension.
Work has also taken place to upgrade the kitchen to provide additional storage, cloaks, staffroom, toilets, hard play and car parking facilities.
County Councillor Wilkinson said: “Cheshire County Council believes that all-through primary schools offer pupils the best possible opportunities.
“This major scheme at Gainsborough has created a school with excellent facilities that will provide maximum benefits for pupils for many years to come.
“The project has been an excellent example of partnership working between the County Council, the school, school governors, architects Lovelock Mitchell and our strategic framework building contractor, Willmott Dixon Construction.”
