Hinderton School Pupils Mark Walk To School Week

The children showed their road safety skills by using a pedestrian crossing in the school grounds as they arrived for lessons. |

Headteacher Liam McCallion who dressed as a School Crossing Patrol said:
"We wanted to use Walk to School week to give the children the opportunity to practice crossing a road following an assembly on Road Safety.
"Most of the children come to school by taxi or minibus so we arranged for them to be dropped at the school gates and walk up the path, use the zebra crossing and demonstrate the skills they learnt in assembly."
The County Council’s Senior School Travel Advisor Angela Hewitt said: "Walk to school week is growing in importance with 174 schools within the age range of four to eleven year olds taking part.
"The week also emphasises the important role of road safety."
