New Network Of Buses For Sandbach Passengers
Sandbach has a new network of town bus services – the SB1, SB2 and SB3 -which operate Monday to Friday, five journeys a day on each service.
Financially supported by Cheshire County Council, the three routes have been introduced following requests from residents for more frequent services from different areas of the town.
All three services are operated by D & G buses.
SB1 serves Sandbach Heath and replaces the service 51 which operated only two journeys a day and service 223 which previously only operated on Thursdays.
SB2 operates to the Princess Drive area and replaces service 223 which previously operated on Thursdays only.
SB3 is a completely new service and brings public transport to Lawton Way and areas of Ettiley Heath and Elworth, including Abbey Road, which have previously not had a bus service.
Chairman of Congleton Public Transport Liaison Committee County Councillor Neville Price said: “I hope that the three routes will be extremely successful and well used because we have listened to requests from residents about their needs for local bus services.”
Added David Reeves, Managing Director of D & G Buses said: “We are pleased to work with Cheshire County Council to provide additional public transport in the Sandbach area and I hope local residents will make good use of them to get around town.”
