Ford Bridge In Waverton, Chester To Undergo Repair Work.

Ford Bridge in Guy Lane, Waverton near Chester is to undergo repair work and have traffic lights installed at a cost of £115,000.

Cheshire County Council is funding the ten week scheme and the bridge will be closed to vehicles from January 25.

The bridge will still be open to pedestrians and cyclists during the closure period.

“Repairs need to be carried out after a road accident damaged the bridge” said local Gowy County Councillor Eleanor Johnson.

“Work will include replacement of a metal parapet on the west side and the installation of permanent traffic signals."

“We apologise for any disruption however the repair work must be carried out."

“Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use the bridge as normal.”

Traffic will be diverted via Brown Heath Road, Stamford Lane, A51 Tarvin Road/Holme Street/Tarvin Bypass and Broomheath Lane.
