Emerging planning guidance requires local authorities to produce a Statement of Community Involvement, setting out how the authority intends to achieve community involvement, enabling the community to know when and how they will be involved in the preparation of local development documents.
Cheshire County Council’s Statement of Community Involvement explains to stakeholders and the community, how and when they will be involved in the Structure Plan review, and the steps that Cheshire County Council will take to facilitate this involvement.
The Statement contains details of the Structure Plan Review timetable, publicity methods and how key stakeholders, the public and hard to reach groups will be targeted. It sets out the standards to be achieved throughout the whole Structure Plan preparation process. It is hoped that throughout the consultation process the statement can be updated and refined, to reflect both responses to further stages of the consultation but also new opportunities and techniques to access and inform all sections of the community.
