Re-Deposit Plan Consultation Period
The consultation period for the Re-deposit Draft Plan ran from the 9th November 2005 to 12 noon on the 21st December 2005. This was also the consultation period for the Re-deposit Draft Plan’s Sustainability Appraisal and the Strategic Environmental Assessment.
Re-deposit Draft Plan Consultation
Public consultation is an important part of the plan-making process. It enabled anyone with an interest in the Plan to identify what issues were of concern to people who live, work and visit Cheshire.
The Plan’s potential environmental impacts were assessed by a Strategic Environmental Assessment. The results of the environmental assessment are summarised in Appendix 5 of the Re-deposit Draft Plan and Appendix 5 of the Adopted Plan.
The consultation on the Re-deposit Draft Plan was the second and final formal public consultation on the Replacement Waste Local Plan. In producing the Re-deposit Draft Plan, we took onboard as many of the representations as we could from the First Deposit Draft consultation in 2004. Everyone who made objections during the 2004 consultation period, was invited to reconsider their objection and withdraw it if the Re-deposit Draft Plan has addressed their concern. Any remaining objections to the First Deposit Plan were considered at the Local Plan Inquiry, along with the representations made during this consultation on the Re-deposit Draft Plan.

Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment Consultation
A Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Re-deposit Draft Plan considered its potential environmental impacts. A summary of the environmental assessment’s conclusions are included as Appendix 5 to the Re-deposit Draft Plan and Appendix 5 of the Adopted Plan.
Two supplementary reports were also prepared to the Re-deposit Draft Plan Strategic Environmental Assessment, one on the proposed landfill/land raise sites and one on site WMR28 (Chelford Depot, Chelford). The non technical summary of the Environmental Report was also updated to reflect the findings of the supplementary reports. The three documents are available to download from the document download page.
The Strategic Environmental Assessment is part of the draft plan’s Sustainability Appraisal. Both documents and their respective Non-Technical Summaries are available from our download documents page.
Further details about Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment are contained within the relevant reports on the document downloads page.
The County Council's statement on the strategic Environmental Assessment of the Replacement Waste Local Plan is available to download from the document downloads page.
