For planning applications for domestic or business addresses, you will need to contact your district council and obtain relevant planning application forms from them.

For most types of development requiring planning permission, your district council is the Local Planning Authority for your area. Planning decisions are made according to central government legislation, set out in the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, and are dealt with by Development Control.

The Planning Portal is an online government planning service which allows you to find out about planning in your area and advises you on what development you can perform on your own property. You can also apply online for permissions, and submit and track appeals.
