Sub-heading

Mary Garratt

Elworth Churchyard

A crocus lawn so beautiful
With every shade and hue
Of purple, white and yellow
And some cream flowers too.

Planted in November,
A drab and dreary time,
Seeming dead through winter,
But blooming in springtime.

Reminding us of re-birth
And God’s promises to man
That, after Noah’s rainbow,
Eternity began.

Mary Garratt
