Not used the Record Office before?
If you are a first time visitor, or have not used our public Searchroom for a while, we can offer an introductory tour of the Searchroom.

What does the tour cover?
We will take you around the Searchroom, showing you how you can get hold of the microfilms, documents or books you need. We can also answer questions you might have about procedures we have in place - and the reasons for them.

We are aware that visiting a Record Office for the first time can be quite daunting, and we want to show you that it doesn't have to be!

When do the tours take place?
At present we are offering the tours at 10.30 am every Tuesday, although we may make them more frequent in the future. The tours last about 20 minutes.

If you cannot make it to the Record Office on a Tuesday morning remember that we are here to help you get started at any time. Just ask at our Enquiries desk.
