DIPZY assembly

Dipzy is an assembly designed to make children think about places where it is dangerous to park, using the mnemonic:

Double yellow lines
In front of entrances (ins and outs)
Pavements
Zebra crossings
Yellow zigzag lines

dipzy board

The children are encouraged to think about what might happen if people do park in these places. They are also given a road safety message to always be careful where there are a lot of parked cars.

After the assembly each child is given a card with DIPZY on one side and the explanation on the other.

The idea of the assembly is to encourage children to look out for people who are being dipzy, and to hopefully shame any parents or guardians into parking in a sensible place.
