The Strategic Partnerships Unit is part of the Customer & Local Relations Service, within the People & Partnerships Department.

Our purpose is...

To enhance the Council's community leadership role by developing, promoting and co-ordinating effective partnership working with the public, private, voluntary and community sectors both at a strategic and local level.

Our main areas of activity include...

• Promoting the well-being of Cheshire's communities through the effective co-ordination and development of partnership working through a new emerging Cheshire Partnerships Framework which will have responsibility for monitoring the delivery of Cheshire's Sustainable Community Strategy and the development and delivery of  Cheshire's first Local Area Agreement.
• Co-ordination of the County Council's input into the six district-based Local Strategic Partnerships, a key element of the Cheshire Partnerships Framework.
• Development, promotion and support of the Council's six Locality Boards to facilitate communication between Members and officers on local service and Local Strategic Partnership issues and to respond to locally identified needs and priorities.
• Development and co-ordination of effective networks of senior and locality staff to support the work of the Locality Boards and Management Board in their local area responsibilities via six internal District Officer Groups.
• Developing and maintaining effective links with the 204 Cheshire Town & Parish Councils, including regular liaison with officers at the Cheshire Association of Local Councils (ChALC) and promotion of the newly revised Charter for Cheshire Councils.
