District Officer Groups

Six District Officer Groups (DOGs) have been established internally for each Cheshire district, led by a member of Management Board, to:

  • ensure links are made between partnerships and the County Council,
    including County Forums, Management Board and service staff; and
  • to ensure local priorities inform corporate decision making processes.

A network of senior and locality staff, the District Officer Groups will support the Management Board and elected members in developing their corporate role in district community planning processes and Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs). Below is a full membership list of each District Officer Group with the Management Board lead member in bold.

Each Management Board member has responsibility for:

  • leading the development of new, creative and joined up approaches to the County Council’s work in districts and localities;
  • working closely with elected members in raising the County Council’s profile at local level;
  • leading and shaping the County Council’s engagement with partners and the LSP; and
  • raising and pursuing corporately within the County Council key issues emerging from local working.

More specifically:

  • acting as the County Council's Management Board representative on the district LSP and other appropriate top level partnerships either in an active or supporting role;
  • taking a corporate overview of the district LSP on behalf of Management Board;
  • supporting the authority’s elected member representatives on the district LSP and other partnerships, where appropriate;
  • ensuring that County Council priorities are strongly represented in local partnership work;
  • ensuring that the County Council contributes effectively to partnership development and activity; and
  • ensuring that the County Council contributes effectively to local community strategy development and delivery and that local issues are addressed by County Council services / committees.
