County and District Councils
District and Parish Councils
In Cheshire councils consult with other organisations such as
on issues that cover the same geographical or subject areas.
The geographical area covered by Cheshire County Council (and by this web site) has changed in recent years, as can be seen by Cheshire County Council's changing shape.
In April 1998 Warrington and Halton became unitary councils separate from the administrative county of Cheshire in terms of local government service provision. They are responsible for all council services in those areas.
There are thirteen district or unitary councils that border Cheshire, and three county councils. |
