The "Cheshire Born" CD – a collection of Cheshire Folk Songs

The Arts Service has supported local folk musician, Roy Clinging, in researching and recording a collection of Cheshire folk songs. Roy has researched extensively into the rich tradition of Cheshire’s folk culture and all of his material on the recording is either from or about people and places within the old county boundary of Cheshire.

Listen to some of the tracks: The Miller of Dee, Nantwich Fair, Chester Races and the Souling Song. The songs and instrumental tunes reflect all of Cheshire’s colourful history as an area of military, economic and agricultural importance. The CD makes a special gift or an engaging souvenir of Cheshire. If you would like to buy a copy telephone 01244 319509 or email: audrey.siddall@cheshire.gov.uk
