Cultural Strategy

Main heading

Sub-heading

The Council's overriding purpose is to improve the quality of life for the people of Cheshire. It regards the arts and culture as a fundamental part of its service and believes they have a unique capacity to enrich the lives of individuals and the communities of Cheshire. The Council will continue to support and expand the quality of cultural experience and to champion all aspects of culture in the county.

Cheshire and Warrington Cultural Strategy

Following the publication of the DCMS guidelines for the production of Local Cultural Strategies in 2000, the Council worked with partners in district authorities and in the Borough of Warrington to produce a strategy for the sub region of Cheshire and Warrington.

The Cheshire and Warrington Cultural Strategy was published in October 2002. The strategy sets out the vision and aims of the partnership, and includes an action plan.
