General Information
Council Tax bills to individual households are based on property value. Dwellings have been assigned to one of eight valuation bands (Bands A to H), and the Council Tax for each band is calculated as a fixed proportion of the Band D tax.
The band in which a property falls is subject to periodic review by the local Valuation Office (see below).

Property valuations and bandings for Council Tax purposes in England and Wales are the responsibility of the Valuation Office Agency, which is an executive agency of the Inland Revenue.
The national website for the Valuation Office is where residents can find further information about valuation issues and contact details for local Valuation Offices.
