If you’ve ever wondered how artists tackle their work, you have the chance each year of tracing the course of the creative process from start to finish.
For thanks to the popular artists@work project, scores of crafts men and women throughout the county fling open the doors of their workplaces to visitors for a limited period.
Venues vary from professional studios in city or town to makeshift studios tucked away in garages, outhouses, cellars or spare rooms at home in hamlets and villages.
Whatever the setting, you, the visitor, are treated to valuable insight into the practical approaches artists adopt to bring their work to fruition and what sparks the creative energy which drives them on to achieve their startling originality. Participating artists encompass areas ranging from fine art, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and jewellery work and screen printing – to name but a few. Samples of their work are exhibited in advance of the month long initiative held each year in September. Phone: 01477 544778/ 01565 621156
