What’s happened?

Stanlaw Abbey’s BBQ Fun Day:

The weather was fair for Stanlaw Abbey Children’s Centre first BBQ and Sports Day. We had a record number of 280 people in attendance from Stanney and Wolverham areas.

The day was fun packed with various races for the children, bouncy castles, assault courses and much more. Children received medals for their participation in the sports, well done to all of the children who took part in the day. The Barbecue was well received by the general public and also by the staff.

Thankyou to everyone who attended the evening and support provided by Volunteers and Parents was very much appreciated.

Funding Achievements for Friends of Stanlaw Abbey Children’s Centre

Friends of Stanlaw is a volunteer group formed in January 2007. The current community project provides families with the opportunity to grow plants and vegetables and learn how to run a successful Allotment. People of all ages will be able to become involved in the Allotment forging links and creating a community spirit. The Allotment will also be a valuable out door learning area for the children attending the community nursery at the Children’s Centre. The project will also reach the governments targets Every Child Matters. We are in the process of bringing local families together to form a constituted group so the group can apply for funding to make sure the Allotment is a success in the community. For more information please contact Pam Maxwell on 0151 356 0626.

Inclusion Quality Mark

Stanlaw Abbey Children’s Centre became the latest centre to have achieved the prestigious Inclusion Quality Kite mark on the 31st August at the Summer Barbecue and Sports Day.
