Ofsted Registered Childminders will already have smoke detectors fitted in their homes and will have devised an emergency fire evacuation drill. But now help is at hand to ensure that everyone has smoke alarms fitted in the most effective locations and advice on the best evacuation route from your home in the event of a fire.
House fires are a terrifying thought and Cheshire Fire Service want to eliminate fires in the home. To help achieve this, Cheshire Fire Service can provide home fire safety checks including survey and installation of smoke alarms, all free of charge.
Childminders who have received a home visit have reported what a wonderful service this is and how useful it has been. Many have had additional smoke alarms fitted – all free of charge, and many children have enjoyed the sight of a real fire engine outside their childminder’s home!
