34km (21 miles) 3 - 4 hours Crosses and Crossbars Map

Start from Sandbach railway station.

1. Turn left out of the station, then left onto the main road.
2. Turn left by the Fox Inn to Moss Lane.
3. Go over the canal, then bear left into Plant Lane.
4. Continue past Walnut Tree Nurseries, then left at the end into Dragon's lane.
5. Pass Sandbach Flashes.
6. Turn left into White Hall Lane.
7. Go through Warmington.
8. Turn left into Hall Lane.
9. Turn right at the Crossroads into Clay Lane.
10. Pass Elton Hall Flash.
11. Turn left into Elton Lane, signed to Haslington.
12. Cross the busy Haslington bypass.
13. Go through the gate and continue left down Elton Lane.
14. Turn right onto the main Crewe Road and into Winterley.
15. Turn left into Pool Lane just before Winterley Pool.
16. Turn right at crossroads onto Hassall Road.
17. At the end turn right towards Hassall.
18. As the road bends left turn right up a surfaced track. Continue on the track signposted as bridleway.
19. Cross the bridge over the M6 at the end of track bear left down Dunnocksfold Road.
20. Cross the mini roundabout onto Church Road, left down Lodge Road then left onto Sandbach Road.
21. Beyond Wilbraham Arms turn left onto Salt Line. Cross the lane at Roughwood Hollow and pass under M6.
22. Turn right onto Hassall Road. Go over the canal into Hassall Green.
23. Turn left into Betchton Road.
24. Go through Malkin's Bank.
25. Turn left at Top of the Hill.
26. Go straight on at traffic lights into Sandbach.
27. Pass Sandbach Square with its ancient crosses.
28. Turn left at the mini roundabout. Pass the Wheatsheaf at next roundabout and go straight across the third roundabout onto Crewe Road.
29. After Wheelock Primary School turn right into Hind Heath Lane.
30. Go over the bridge and turn right onto Hind Heath Road.
31. Go across roundabout onto Salt Line Way.
32. At the end turn right into Moss Lane, left into Station Road and back to the start.
