Start at Hadlow Road Station, Willaston.

  1. Join Route 56 via the access point at the far end of the car park. Turn left along the Wirral Way, heading towards Hooton.
  2. Leave the Wirral Way at Heath Lane. Turn left just before the first bridge you come to, then right onto the road.
  3. At the sharp left hand bend in the road, turn right onto the bridleway, signed Route 56.
  4. Turn right at the T junction into Badgers Rake Lane.
  5. Turn right onto the A540. Take care!
  6. Turn left into Mudhouse Lane, signed to Burton.
  7. Turn left at the T junction into Dunstan Lane and carry on to Burton.
  8. Turn left after Burton Manor into Station Road.
  9. Stop and admire the views over the Dee estuary before climbing up to Neston Road.
  10. Turn left at the T junction.
  11. Turn left just before the Wheatsheaf pub into Well Lane.
  12. Turn left at the T junction and go straight over the mini-roundabout.
  13. Go under the Millennium bridge, straight over the second mini-roundabout and through the traffic lights into the centre of Neston.
  14. Turn left at Neston Cross and follow Parkgate Road down to Parkgate.
  15. Go along the Parade to Mostyn Square and turn right by Mostyn Square into School Lane. Turn left at the top on to Brooklands Road.
  16. Go under the bridge and turn immediately left up the incline and left again onto the Wirral Way (Route 56) towards Neston.
  17. Turn right at the road junction, and immediately left, signed Wirral Country Park.
  18. After crossing the Millennium Bridge, follow Route 56 up Station Road.
  19. Cross straight over Bushell Road and follow the Wirral Way back to Hadlow Road Station.
