Follow the Biddulph Valley Way out from Congleton town, through the pretty Dane-in-Shaw valley, to the rolling countryside beyond. The former railway line is a traffic-free route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Exploring further afield
The Biddulph Valley Way is an ideal starting place for exploring the surrounding countryside. Close by is the scenic Macclesfield Canal, or you can head out to Timbersbrook Picnic Area and carry on up to The Cloud.
Biddulph Valley Way links into the Gritstone Trail, a 56km/35mile walk from Disley to Kidsgrove through some of the most rugged and spectacular scenery in Cheshire.
