Timbersbrook Picnic Area is a mixture of wooded and open grassy areas, on the site of a former dyeing and bleaching works. Across the road is the mill pool, a quiet spot to enjoy peace and tranquility.

Exploring further afield

There are lots of possible circular walks and rides from Timbersbrook into the surrounding countryside. The steep climb to the top of The Cloud is well worth it for the views over the Cheshire plain and back towards Bosley Minn.

Walking Timbersbrook is the ideal place to break the central and southern sections of the Gritstone Trail, a 56km (35 mile) walk from Disley to Kidsgrove through some of the most rugged and spectacular scenery in Cheshire.

Cycling Cycle Cheshire - Crossroads around Congleton is a slightly more challenging 32km/20mile ride starting from Congleton railway station which includes a fairly steep climb along the lanes beneath Bosley Cloud.

AccessibilityAccessibility

Gravel car park, the mown grassland areas are gently sloped but can be very wet. There is a surfaced path to the picnic tables but there are steps to the woodland and pool from the car park.
