You will find most of these shown on Ordnance Survey maps. There is also a wide variety of leaflets, guides and magazines which are published describing riding opportunities to suit different tastes. Why not take a look at the horse riding pages of this site for fresh ideas - and don't forget to use our "feedback" facility to let us know if you have enjoyed them. Please take care when riding in or beside traffic. Many drivers will not expect to come across horses and may not understand how a horse may react to being passed at speed and close up. Wear reflective clothing and a riding hat.
You in turn should be considerate towards others using your route and avoid riding at speed or recklessly on bridleways, particularly where you cannot see ahead - walkers or cyclists may appear from a side path apparently 'out of nowhere'.
You should not use certain types of route. Please leave them for walkers to enjoy:
