Routes for Walkers

Main heading

Sub-heading

As a walker you can enjoy each of these:

walking man

You will find all of these and more shown on Ordnance Survey maps. There is also a huge number of leaflets, guides and magazines which are published describing walks to suit every taste. Why not take a look at the walking pages of this site for fresh ideas - and don't forget to use our "feedback" facility to let us know if you have enjoyed them. Tell us too what you didn't like - and that will help us improve our facilities for you in the future.

Access to Open Country

Public access on foot (sometimes known as the 'right to roam') over open country and registered common land in England and Wales is now in place. Open country and other access land is shown on the latest OS Explorer maps. Your access rights are subject to certain restrictions and some areas of land may be excluded at times. Visit the Countryside Agency's webpages for more details.
