The Council leads the way!
The Engineering Service is proud to announce that LIVE, a voluntary group based at New Scene Youth Centre (Newton Lane, Newton, Chester) have volunteered to supervise the use of 5 hand bikes, a trike and a duet bike at the Youth Centre for use on the Millennium Cycle Route (Chester to Deeside - traffic free).
In order to encourage families and friends to undertake this activity together, ordinary bikes have been provided to minimise the amount of equipment to be transported to the Youth Centre. The best news is that this facility is free of charge to gain maximum use of the bikes. For more information or to reserve a bike please call 01244 320479.

Cycle Projects runs a scheme called Wheels for All which provides cycling opportunities for anyone who isn't able to manage a two-wheeled bike, for whatever reason. There is one hire centre in Cheshire - Alsager Leisure Complex (Tel: 01270 875704) where you can use the cycles at a venue of your choice. Please telephone first to check availability to avoid disappointment. There is no longer a hire fee, but a donation towards the upkeep of the cycles and the purchasing of new equipment is encouraged.
For more information please call Wheels for All hotline 0161 745 9944 or Anna Geroni, Cycling Officer (01244 973617).
